Very good fish and chips for our take away. The staff was disorganized and somewhat unpleasant, but otherwise met expectations for a busy little restaurant.

We enjoyed this fish n chip store- a good selection of types of fish and very helpful staff. The calamari was excellent - we enjoyed a wine with our meal and met interesting locals

We had overnight stays at Albany on the way to and from Esperance and had booked a table at Liberte for our return trip. We still hadn't settled on a dinner spot for the first stop but then found Ocean and Paddock. T/A reviews were good but we weren't sure about eating in at a fish and chip shop. We contacted them and owner Rebecca was so friendly and welcoming that we booked a table for Thursday. There are only 7 tables in their dine in section and, apparently, they can fill up quickly (especially on Tuesdays when a lot of nearby places are closed). The dine in section is BYO alcohol no corkage charge. When we arrived at 6pm, the takeaway section was very busy and the dine in room was almost full. Only one other table besides ours was vacant. The atmosphere was lively but not noisy and we were able to converse quite privately although we were welcomed like we were well known by the table of 8 next to us. A staff member quickly brought over a wine cooler and two glasses. Our bottle of West Cape Howe chardonnay caused quite a stir as their winemaker is apparently the daughter of one of the couples at the big table. Food is ordered at the takeaway counter and is brought to the table when ready. We ordered the crumbed whiting and the snapper, 6 crumbed scallops, 2 dim sims and 10 potato cakes. That seemed like a lot but we figured that we'd take away what we didn't eat there. The potato cakes were smallish and we got through the lot as well as a fried banana for dessert. The bill came to $59 and it was all great. Cheapest dinner we had for the whole trip and a most enjoyable night out. Our only disappointment was that Rebecca is no longer with the business.

Fantastic fish & chips. So yummy! My husband is coeliac so he thoroughly enjoyed his tasty WA fish and chips. We even tried then bought their delicious chippie vinegar too.
